Help Front & back matter

Front & back matter

Add a copyright page

What you'll do: add the standard legal page near the front of your book, using Bookbndr's clause builder — no legal wording to write yourself.

The copyright page is one of the front-matter sections on the Matter step.

Turn it on and open it

  1. Go to the Matter step.
  2. Find Copyright in the Front matter list and make sure its toggle is on.
  3. Open the section to reveal the builder.

Build the page from ready-made clauses

The Build tab gives you tick-boxes for the standard clauses, so you can assemble a proper copyright page in seconds.

Choose the clauses you need:

Then press Insert Copyright Page.

Prefer to write your own?

Switch to the Edit manually tab to type or paste your own wording in a rich-text editor instead. Anything you build can also be edited there afterwards.

Where it appears

The copyright page sits in your front matter, after the title page. You can drag it to reorder it among the other front-matter sections.
